What is the Hongkong Prize?

The Hongkong Prize is one of Asia’s premier awards, drawing thousands of applicants annually. Recognizing research that contributes to society and encouraging young people to follow their passion while expanding global perspectives is its aim; furthermore it promotes innovation, cooperation and moral integrity while its symbol depicting two precious elements – pearl and jade amulet – has happy connotations in both Chinese and Western contexts.

Finalists who win will have access to Hong Kong’s premier research facilities for six months, providing them with an opportunity to build professional ties with world-renowned scientists while taking part in seminars and workshops tailored specifically to their field of study. Furthermore, each will be eligible to receive both a monetary prize as well as a trophy award.

This highly esteemed literary competition is open to writers who specialize in Asian culture and history. The top ten finalists will receive a monetary prize, plaque at an awards ceremony, as well as other perks.
