How to Evaluate a HK Pools

Hong Kong may not immediately come to mind when one thinks of great pools; shopping, dim sum and high-rise apartments might instead come to mind first. Yet this city offers numerous scenic swimming spots – from its highest pool in the world to natural infinity pools on mountain sides – along with plenty of public swimming pools where visitors can cool off.

These Hong Kong pools go beyond just offering laps. Many are designed with children in mind, offering separate kiddie pools complete with water slides and animal sculptures, to help kids use up energy while parents get some quality pool time themselves. It’s an added treat that the little ones love too!

Ideal, you should find a pool builder who understands your budget and can provide an accurate cost estimate based on your preferences. Be wary if they try to sell you extras that fall outside your budget – they obviously need to earn their living but shouldn’t do it at your expense!

Before signing your lease agreement for a new neighbourhood, take note of its proximity to swimming pools. This consideration is particularly pertinent if you have children; large developments with multiple towers often offer both outdoor 50m pools and an indoor kiddie pool for them; on the other hand, smaller single tower developments might only offer small outdoor pools – too short for lap swimming yet still fun enough for splashing about and meeting other children!

Another key consideration when evaluating HK pools is the ease of getting to and from it. Depending on your work location and other considerations, being too far from home might prevent you from making full use of your pool; similarly if you have children you may not be able to leave them all day at the pool when leaving for work.

There are plenty of transportation options for getting to and from Hong Kong pools in the city centre, and some of the finest are conveniently situated in places such as Causeway Bay and Wan Chai. Morrison Hill and YMCA Bridges Street Centre are popular choices when it comes to getting swimming lessons with young children at these pools – not to mention being relatively inexpensive; expect prices between $17-20 per adult on weekdays/weekends while children under 3 years of age can enter free. Prices increase slightly for public holidays.
